Journeymen's next study focuses on the workplace

Work. For most people, it’s a necessity. For some, it’s a passion. For all of us, only one perspective on work really matters: God’s. Our new study, called Taking Care of Business,  addresses specific problem areas we’re all familiar with, from dealing with co-workers and superiors while exemplifying Christ, to balancing our work and home life. Women’s spring event April 29
Join us for a morning of worship, chatting, brunch and a fitness class.  We will be having a morning of IF:Tables on April 29, 9am-12pm.  We will break bread, discuss 4 questions and get to know each other.  You will also have a chance to take a fitness class.  Cost: please bring a dish to share.  Please register by April 26 by clicking here, or at the Ministry Cart in the Commons this weekend.  Questions? Children's Ministry: Loving the Word of God
The Children's Ministry staff  is committed to coming alongside you, as parents, to help kids fall in love with the Word of God. Our excellent group of volunteers in the Children's Ministry, will care for and teach your kids from birth to 5th grade using the Gospel Project Curriculum, the same curriculum used throughout every ministry of our church, so that families are studying the same scriptures. Be sure to grab the notes outline as we have family discussion questions on them. And using the Big Picture Cards that your child receives in class, we hope you have great conversations with your kids about the Word of God. 

 

Live prayer meeting with China partners
Do you have a heart for the 1.4 billion people who live in China? Join us for a live prayer meeting with our Chinese partners on Saturday morning, April 29, 9 -10:30 am, in Room 105. You will hear about what God has been doing and the future vision for the work in China.

 

Team World Vision: run for clean water
Join Team World Vision by running a marathon to bring clean water to communities in Africa. In the past three years, our team at Five Oaks has raised funds to supply clean water for over 1000 people in Africa. Most of our team members are first-time runners. You can do it! Registration for Maker Fun Factory Vacation Bible School now open
Hey kids! Join us and become hands-on inventors to discover that we were created by God and built for a purpose.  Each day we will have fun exploring Bible truths, worship with catchy tunes, use our imagination, eat yummy snacks, and make new friends. 
June 19-23, 9:15 am — 12 pm. VBS is open to children 3 years old by 9/1/2016 and potty trained, thru 4th grade completed.
Cost: One child = $45;  two children = $90; family max (3 or more) = $100 (Family max is for your "family unit" only and does not include friends or relatives you invite.)

Five Oaks Student Ministry meets on Wednesdays from 6 – 8 pm for both middle and high school students. Our youth café is open selling dinner, snacks, and drinks. Save the date! Global Leadership Summit — August 10-11
This year Five Oaks willpartner with Eagle Brook Church, Woodbury Campus, for GLS. We are not hosting, but instead we will attend at Eagle Brook.  As partners and attenders of Five Oaks Church, we receive the special rate of $99 until June 26, when it increases to $129. A registration link will open soon, but mark your calendars now for this life-changing event.

 

Overeaters Anonymous/H.O.W. 
Our church hosts an ongoing OA/H.O.W. group on Tuesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. This meeting is always open to new members looking to free themselves from the burden of compulsive overeating.

Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers’ support group
Are you living with or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or another type of memory loss?  You are not alone. Over 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. All types of dementias take a devastating toll on both patients and their caregivers.

This support group is for those who are in need of emotional, educational, and social support for their role as caregiver. We also feature learning opportunities for developing methods and skill to solve problems that surround caregiving.  This is a safe and confidential environment.  When: second Tuesday of every month, 3:30-4:30 pm. Woodbury Area Prayer Breakfast
Join 500 others as we come together for another inspirational morning. We gather in gratitude for the blessings Christ has given unto us. This year’s speaker, Nick Hall, is the founder of Pulse,  a ministry at the center of some of the largest student-led prayer and outreach efforts in the world.
