We need 125 volunteers to make this week a blast for kids! “Maker Fun Factory,” our curriculum this year, yields a high-energy environment with 200+ kids who are excited to learn about Jesus. Are you new to Five Oaks? Join our Discovery Seminar May 7 — this weekend
We’re all pretty good at self-sabotage. It’s no different when it comes to our own spiritual growth. That’s why we have the Discovery Seminar. We look at three dumb things smart people do to sabotage their own spiritual growth, and what you can do instead. We offer it every month because it’s part of offering a clear pathway to connecting, growing, and making a difference with us—10-Minute Connect, Discovery, and Story of God. The second half of the Discovery Seminar is an opportunity for you to ask questions about Five Oaks. This is for new folks like you. Our next class is May 7, 11 am - 12:15 pm, room 101. Tree House summer serve opportunities
Did you know it takes 50 hearts and hands to make our Tree House hum each weekend? Each summer we give our regular volunteers a well-deserved break. This is an opportunity for you to step in an serve for a weekend or three this summer — and try out a new serving area. A great chance to build relationships and engage with kids! Final Story of God offering for the school year
From this class, you will learn how the Bible fits together, read it with greater understanding, and take your faith deeper. Great for beginning and experienced Bible readers alike. Students: Still time to register for our YouthWorks mission trip
Hey students —- join us July 9-14 for a mission trip to Minneapolis (high schoolers) and St. Paul (middle schoolers). You’ll grow through service projects, evening fun activities, worship and time with God. Opportunities to work with kids, serve the homeless and elderly, and see some great breakdancing! $375 covers meals, lodging, and entertainment. Five Oaks Student Ministry meets on Wednesdays from 6 – 8 pm for both middle and high school students. Our youth café is open selling dinner, snacks, and drinks. Do you love babies?
As you consider serving in the Tree House this summer, we are also in immediate need of help in the nursery. The number of babies needing caring arms has grown significantly during this school year! It’s a great “problem” -- so please consider joining us to rock babies while their parents attend worship. Please write “baby nursery” on your Communication Card this weekend if you are interested.
Registration for Maker Fun Factory Vacation Bible School now open
Hey kids! Join us and become hands-on inventors to discover that we were created by God and built for a purpose. Each day we will have fun exploring Bible truths, worship with catchy tunes, use our imagination, eat yummy snacks, and make new friends. •June 19-23, 9:15 am — 12 pm. VBS is open to children 3 years old by 9/1/2016 and potty trained, thru 4th grade completed. •Cost: One child = $45; two children = $90; family max (3 or more) = $100 (Family max is for your "family unit" only and does not include friends or relatives you invite.) •Parents and other fun adults, we also need you! Our VBS set this year will be constructed largely from repurposed items. Odds are, you may have some of the items we need for our set in your basement already! Even better, this may be a chance for you to set some of your “treasures” free! Stop by the Ministry Cart in the Commons this weekend between services to see the entire list of items we’re hoping to have donated. This year Five Oaks will partner with Eagle Brook Church, Woodbury Campus, for GLS. We are not hosting, but instead we will attend at Eagle Brook. Our church hosts an ongoing OA/H.O.W. group on Tuesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. This meeting is always open to new members looking to free themselves from the burden of compulsive overeating.

Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers’ support group
Are you living with or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or another type of memory loss? You are not alone. Over 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. All types of dementias take a devastating toll on both patients and their caregivers.
This support group is for those who are in need of emotional, educational, and social support for their role as caregiver. We also feature learning opportunities for developing methods and skill to solve problems that surround caregiving. This is a safe and confidential environment.
