This SERVE opportunity checks ALL the boxes

It feels good to give back during the Christmas season. It lifts your spirits to know you’ve helped make someone’s holiday brighter.  We have several easy ways to do just that at Five Oaks this year.  When you show up this weekend, you'll receive a Christmas SERVE handout with many different opportunities listed in it. Just fill that out and place it in the offering box on your way out. We will reach out to you to discuss serve options for you and your family.  Bonus: these are one-time serve experiences you can do as a family or a group!

Ask Pastor Henry all your questions – this Sunday!

If you’re new here, you may wonder how best to get connected. We have a simple first step, called Pizza with the Pastor. This one-hour lunch with Pastor Henry will allow you to ask any questions about Five Oaks and get you started connecting with others. FREE childcare and a FREE pizza and salad lunch.  Sunday, December 9, after the second service. Walk-ups are welcome!

Join us Sunday afternoons for our Family Advent services
Feeling pulled in too many directions during the holiday season? Our Family Advent Services are one holiday tradition that will help you focus on the birth of Jesus. We also have family activities following, including opportunities to give back right here in Woodbury and the Twin Cities this season. More info on these opportunities is on Realm. See you Sundays, December 9 and 16, at 4:30 pm!

Loving your city: The Giving Tree
Many families in this area are unable to buy Christmas gifts for their kids. Once again, we’re teaming with Kids Hope USA to help bridge that gap for kids at Woodbury Elementary. How can you help? Stop by the Kids Hope Giving Tree at the ministry cart in the Commons to pick up a gift tag. Return wrapped gifts with their tags to church by December 16. Other ways to serve these kids are also available at the ministry cart.

Students: Help us impact the families of Kids Hope USA
Five Oaks Students and Kids Hope USA are partnering this Christmas to help impact the lives of Kids Hope families at Woodbury Elementary. On December 12 from 6-8 pm, middle schoolers will make gifts, and high schoolers will go out to buy gifts for individual kids. Each student is asked to bring $5 for the gifts. Help impact a Woodbury family and bring joy to their Christmas. High schoolers will be leaving at 6 pm sharp to shop!

Connect with other women this Christmas season
Join us for Christmas Around the World, an evening of fellowship and a glimpse of other cultures’ Christmas traditions. This is a free event that will include snacks Christmas treats, and some shared info on how other cultures’ Christmas traditions point to Jesus. This is a great invite opportunity for neighbors and friends! December 13, 6-9 pm at Five Oaks. To register, click here.

Christmas Eve worship at Five Oaks
Join us for Christmas Eve worship at Five Oaks. Our services times are:
December 23          4 pm
December 24          1 pm, 2:30 pm, 4 pm

Please note that we will not have our usual weekend services on December 22 + 23. This weekend, you will see RSVP tickets available in the Commons just outside the main Worship Center doors. We ask that once you know which Christmas Eve service you will attend, please take the number of tickets for the people in your family who will attend with you. (Don’t forget to include out-of-town visitors!) These tickets are simply a tool to help us gauge how full each of our Christmas Eve services will be. They are not required for admission to the service, but instead will help us plan accordingly for each service.

What would Christmas be like if your mom or dad were in prison?
Children with a parent in prison grow up wondering if their mom or dad still loves them. Through Angel Tree you can be the one to show them they do! Angel Tree connects parents in prison with their children through the delivery of Christmas gifts and the Gospel. For more information, email impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Amazon Smile benefits Five Oaks Students
Do you do any Christmas shopping on Amazon? Any purchases made on Amazon can benefit our youth group when you set up ‘Five Oaks Community Church’ as your brand partner on your Amazon account. Click here to get set up and start shopping! Our Student Ministry thanks you!

Will your grandchildren visit you over the holidays?
Hey grandparents! If you plan to bring grandkids or other young visitors to Five Oaks during their visit, you can help us make their visit easier by pre-registering your grandkids in our system well ahead of their arrival. Please stop by the Welcome Center anytime to get them pre-registered. It will only take a few minutes now and will help speed up your arrival during their visit!

Ready for your kids’ next phase?
Kids change quickly: one day it’s LEGOs, the next it seems it’s a cell phone. As our kids grow and mature, their interests, challenges and needs evolve, too. Be ready for what’s ahead! Join us for our FREE Parenting Journey Classes in January, where we’ll explore the social, emotional, physical, and developmental needs of your kids so you can stop feeling behind and start having meaningful connection as a family. Click on the link below that corresponds to your child’s phase to register for the appropriate class.  This is a great opportunity for you to invite neighbors and friends to explore their children’s phases as well.
