A new way to get connected

Have you wanted to invite a new couple to join your small group?  Or wanted to reach out to the family who sits in front of you most weeks to try to arrange a play date for your kids?  But...how?  Church directory? Call the office for their info? ...Facebook?

Clunky options, yes?

Well, Five Oaks is about to roll out a communication tool to our entire congregation that will simplify how you access all things related to Five Oaks: small group meetings, serving teams, all-church events, contacting and communicating with friends new and old, and even your giving. Can you stand it?!  Big news is breaking next week (January 27+28) during services. You won’t want to miss this!

Family Resource Center to be unveiled in 2 weeks
This is drumroll-worthy ...  the Five Oaks Family Resource Center, launching February 3/4, will be a place for every family at every age, stage, and phase to find resources, tools and caring conversation for their family. The Family Resource Center will be staffed each weekend by our awesome Family and Discipleship Team. It’s place to have a conversation with our caring staff, and a place to find tools and resources to help you navigate the phase you’re in. We are here to help you gain confidence in leading your family well!

New here? Let Pastor Henry answer all your questions … over pizza
If you’re new here, you may wonder how best to get connected.  We have a simple first step, called Explore Five Oaks. This one-hour, sit-down lunch with Pastor Henry will allow you to ask any questions about Five Oaks and get you started connecting with others at our church.  FREE childcare and a FREE pizza and salad lunch.  Sunday, January 28, after the second service.  For more info and to register, please email Martha at myoung@fiveoakschurch.org.

Why join a small group?
We're all busy; isn't this just one more thing? Most people from Five Oaks, involved in a small group, report that their small group represents their place of connection or belonging, their closest community.  Maybe you've never tried a small group before or took a break from it.  The new year is a great time to join a small group. We offer small groups from every life stage, meeting on every day of the week, so you can expect to meet other who may be facing similar goals and challenges. People like you. To learn more about small groups, please email our small groups pastor, Jonathan Haage, at jhaage@fiveoakschurch.org.

This event gathers women around the world, in local homes, to be reminded why following God and making disciples matters. We’ll listen speakers and discuss ways we can equip each other as women to live out God’s calling. More info to follow. Stop by the Ministry Cart in the Commons this weekend for more info! Help our Five Oaks kids be their best
Parents love to hear their kids say, “I can’t wait to see my teacher at church!” It’s no secret that kids learn best and have more fun when they know what to expect.  Having a consistent teacher or helper each week is key! If you would like to help kids of any age fall in love with Jesus, please write email Rhiannon Rutledge, rrutledge@fiveoakschurch.org. Your time and smile have a huge impact on our kids!

Daily devotions that link to our sermons
DailyLife devotions, written by our volunteer team of writers, correlate directly to the Gospel Project and to the sermon from the previous week. These devotions will give you extra insight for your small group discussions, if you are involved with one. If you don’t currently receive DailyLife in your email inbox, sign up at fiveoaks.church/dailylife or write “DailyLife” and your email on your Communication Card.
