Weekend of July 7+8

BAPTISM-2018.jpg

Join us as we celebrate baptism as a church family

Make plans now to join us at Five Oaks for our Backyard Baptism Service. Bring lawn chairs and/or a picnic blanket, and umbrella for shade and some sunscreen. (Five Oaks will provide some shade this year via canopies, but an extra umbrella may not hurt!) Get ready to worship and celebrate those in our church family who are taking the step of baptism. Sunday, July 29, 10 am, in the Five Oaks backyard.

Also, look forward to an all-church picnic and lawn games following the service. Bring a picnic for your family, and Five Oaks will provide drinks. The MikMart ice cream truck will make a stop at Five Oaks, too!

Please note that this baptism service will be our ONLY service that weekend.

Bring your kids to worship July 7+8
As you join us for worship this weekend, remember that this weekend we’ll be worshiping as families.  Children’s programing will be available at all services only for children from birth through kindergarten. Kids in grades 1-5 should attend services with their parents.

New here? Pizza with the Pastor this Sunday
If you’re new here, you may wonder how best to get connected. We have a simple first step, called Pizza with the Pastor. This one-hour, sit-down lunch with Pastor Henry will allow you to ask any questions about Five Oaks and get you started connecting with others at our church. FREE childcare and a FREE pizza and salad lunch. July 8 after the second service -- that's this Sunday!. Hope to see you there -- room 101.

Do you love kids but your time is limited?
Each weekend almost 200 kids learn about God in the classrooms of  Five Oaks Kids. Your willing spirit can make a big difference: helping out at the welcome desk, or substitute teaching in a classroom are 2 easy ways. Please email Kelly Bauman, kbauman@fiveoakschurch.org or write “Five Oaks Kids summer” and your email on your communication card. She’ll help you find a fit for your schedule and gifts.

Middle & high schoolers: get your game on
Hey students! Bring your neighbors to Five Oaks for a night of gym games (think GaGa Ball and Nine-High) and board games in the Commons! Summer is hot, and this will provide a chance to cool off! Catch up with church friends you haven’t seen in awhile. July 11, 6-8 pm.  Bring your favorite board game and a snack to share.

Try a small group this summer
Many small groups dial back their pace a bit in the summer, taking a break from planned study to focus on fellowship. If you’re looking to join a small group, summer is a great time to meet others in a more relaxed setting to find a good fit for your schedule and life stage. Interested in more info? Write “small groups /summer” and your email on your communication card. We’ll also have more info at the ministry cart this weekend.
