One summer. God's kids. Endless possibilities.
In Five Oaks Kids, we are committed to offering quality kids’ programming year-round, and summer is no exception. We are always looking for summer superstars to join us in building relationships with our kids and showing them how much Jesus loves them. This is your chance to try a new serve area, perhaps short-term, and find out if God is nudging you toward serving in Five Oaks Kids year-round. Please fill out the Five Oaks Summer Serve brochure you will receive this weekend at services and drop it off in the offering box. Questions? Please email Kelly Bauman, kbauman@fiveoakschurch.org.
Have a few minutes for prayer?
Join us next weekend as we gather to pray together for the 14 missionaries and their families whom Five Oaks supports in the mission field. May 20, 10:15 am, room 105. Refreshments are always available.
Parents: Sexuality and dating milestone this week
Parents, if you’ve ever struggled to find the right words to talk openly with your student about dating and sexuality, please join us for our Navigating Adolescence milestone series in May. This week we’ll discuss sexuality and dating -- May 16, 6:30-7:30 pm in the worship center. Student Ministry Pastor Justin Talk will share some wisdom, resources and answer questions. Please RSVP on Realm.
Calling all creatives, builders, helpers!
If you’re willing to help us visualize, plan and build the set for our Shipwrecked VBS, please make plans to join us for another afternoon of teamwork on Sunday, May 20, 1:30 pm. Please email Cindy Yarrington, cyarrington@fiveoakschurch.org, to register or ask questions.
Women: 5 ways to be more intentional this summer
It’s hard to be intentional during the summer. This summer, we’ll take a refreshing look at how to integrate exciting rhythms into our life that are intentional and life-giving in following Jesus. This women’s study meets Wednesdays 9:30-11:30am at Five Oaks from June 6-July 25th (*no class June 13 or July 4). Email Jonathan Haage with questions or for more info on how to register.
VBS registration ends May 14! Don’t delay!
•Shipwrecked Vacation Bible School, June 11-15, will help kids ages 3-10 (end of 4th grade), see how they are anchored to Jesus through life’s storms. Registration is $50 per child, or $115 max for a family of 3 or more (immediate family only).
•Volunteers, we’d love your help: leading a crew, helping create the set (May 6+20, 1:30 pm), assisting with crafts or games, etc. All kinds of roles for all kinds of personalities!
•Register for either or both at fiveoaks.church/vbs-2018. Registration ends May 14!
UPDATE: Senior send-off
Senior students and their families: Since many of you are unable to attend our senior sendoff dinner, please note the change in plans. We will be celebrating you during our weekend services May 19/20 instead of the senior sendoff dinner. After the May 19 Saturday service, we will have root beer floats available for everyone. Please also see Justin Talk for your senior gift from us! We are excited and proud of you! If you have questions, please email Justin Talk.
Let Pastor Henry answer all your questions
If you’re new here, you may wonder how best to get connected. We have a simple first step, called Pizza with the Pastor. This one-hour lunch with Pastor Henry will allow you to ask any questions about Five Oaks and get you started connecting with others at our church. FREE childcare and a FREE pizza and salad lunch. Sunday, May 20, after the second service. Please email Martha Young to register.
These devotions link to the sermon
DailyLife devotions, written by our volunteer team of writers, correlate directly to the Gospel Project and to the sermon from the previous week. These devotions will give you extra insight for your small group discussions, if you are involved with one. If you don’t currently receive DailyLife in your email inbox, sign up at fiveoaks.church/dailylife or write “DailyLife” and your email on your Communication Card.

As parents, you want to model serving to your family. We have a simple serve option that fits the bill. We have openings at all three services for communion preparation. The bread and juice are already prepared - we just need help with setup in the Worship Center. Serve during regular worship times once a month. For more information, please email Jennifer Clemens.
Are you friendly? Hospitable?
If you’ve ever been told that you are approachable, kind, easy to talk to, we need your people skills on our greeting team! We have openings on our greeter team for the Saturday service and for both Sunday morning services. For more info, please email Jennifer Clemens.
