Weekend of April 13+14

Who is unreached in your community?

Good Friday and Easter are both great opportunities to reach out to new neighbors or others you know who are either not connected or who are unreached. Help others in your life discover or rediscover the life-changing story of the cross and resurrection. Many people report they are willing to come to church when invited by others to join them, so this is your opportunity to help plant a seed for a friend.

Children's programing is available for all kids, ages birth through grade 5, on Saturday at 4:30 and on Sunday at 9:30 and 11 am.  The Retreat is available at the 9:30 am service.

Bless our visitors this Easter
Are you and your family in town for Easter weekend? Consider blessing the families who will visit Five Oaks for Easter – some for the first time ever – by serving during one or more worship services. Many types of roles available!  Just text fiveoaks to 555-888 and we’ll text you the SignUpGenius link to find the right serving role for you.

Ask Pastor Henry all your questions this Sunday
If you’re new here, you may wonder how best to get connected. We have a simple first step, called Pizza with the Pastor. This one-hour lunch with Pastor Henry will allow you to ask any questions about Five Oaks and get you started connecting with others. FREE childcare and a FREE pizza and salad lunch.  Sunday, April 14, after the second service. Walk-ups are welcome!

Loving your world: Team World Vision (impact Passport “ready” opportunity)
How would your life be different if you had to do a 6K (6 kilometers = 3.72 miles) every day just to get water? You can help eliminate that problem for many in Africa by running for Team World Vision in the TC Marathon, or by supporting a TWV runner. Stop by the ministry cart in the commons between services this weekend to learn more.

Join our mission (membership)

Membership is important at Five Oaks. It’s a way of saying, “I want to be part of the mission of this local church.”  If you have a personal relationship with Christ and have completed Story of God (the class or in your small group), make plans to come to the next membership class on April 28, 9 am, in room 102. Please RSVP by emailing Pam Hawley at phawley@fiveoakschurch.org.

Pastoral residency at Five Oaks
Five Oaks Church exists to fulfill our mission of making disciples who make disciples. And in doing so, make pastors who make pastors and churches that plant churches. We are going to be hiring a two-year Pastoral Resident as part of that mission. Please pray with us in this opportunity.  If you’d like more info about it, click here to email Jonathan Haage.

Dorothy Day serving opportunity May 4

For many of us, our days are comfortable, with no worries for when we’ll eat again or where we’ll sleep at night.  This is an opportunity to step outside that comfort zone and serve those whose basic needs for food and shelter aren’t guaranteed from day to day. If you are 13 or older, consider joining us to prepare and serve a meal at the Dorothy Day Center. May 4, 8:30 am-1:15 pm. Please message Tim and Cindy Wiant on Realm to register. You do need to sign up and get a confirmation for this event.
