Getting connected is just a text away

You’ve decided Five Oaks is your church home, and now you are ready to get more connected.  A natural way to do that is starting to serve. Five Oaks has more than 40 ways you can serve and meet others.  Our staff will come alongside you to help figure out which serve opportunity fits you best.

Get that process started today by texting the word fiveoaks to 555-888.  Answer a few simple questions, and we will be in touch to help you find a great serving match.

Rooted Women: Do you love IF: TABLE?  Try IF: Gathering!
How do you learn to follow Christ more closely in the middle of everyday life? Join us for IF: Gathering on February 8 and 9, 2019! This event is not an overnight, as it is hosted in local women’s homes. Hear powerful truths from the book of Proverbs, spoken in short talks by well-known speakers.  An IF:TABLE style lunch will divide the day on Saturday.  Plenty of space is available to participate in the conference, simulcast live in women's homes.  Join us for part or all of the event!  Look for details on Realm or ask questions at fiveoaks.church/if-gathering. You also may get questions answered by emailing women@fiveoakschurch.org.

Loving your city and helping others find healing – New Life Family Services

Bring diapers, wipes, and gently used baby clothing to the Commons the weekend of February 9/10, February 16/17, or February 23/24 to help support New Life Family Services as they, in turn, help those in crisis to choose life. New Life, through their Conquerors program, also helps those who have had abortions to experience the grace and forgiveness of God. For more information about Conquerors call (612) 746-5639 or email coordinator@conquerorsafterabortion.org.

Do you love to keep things ship-shape?
Are you naturally organized? Do you experience a small thrill when a task is completed? If so, we have the perfect serve opportunity for you. We’re looking for someone to help log our weekend service attendance info into Realm. Twice a month. Four hours total. A great at-home serve opportunity! We’ll provide all the training you need. For more info, please email Kelsey Vang, kvang@fiveoakschurch.org.

Discover your part in the Story of God
Many find the Bible confusing because many don’t understand how it all fits together to tell one story. In Story of God, this 6-week experience will provide a framework for the Bible, help you read it with greater understanding, and make room for tough questions. This is a great way to connect with others in your SOG cohort, too. New classes start in February and March. Click here for the schedule of Story of God classes starting soon.

Do you have crisis management or first responder experience?
As we look to increase the presence of our Safety and Security Team at Five Oaks, we are seeking individuals with a heart and gifting for helping to keep our church safe and dealing with emergency situations. If you have this type of experience or training (law enforcement, military, first responder or crisis management), and have interest in using these skills to serve your church, please email Pam Hawley at phawley@fiveoakschurch.org,  or message her on Realm.

Time:  6:45 pm - discussion at 7 pm

New members are welcome throughout the year. Join anytime. Please message Carie Jorgenson on Realm to find out what our upcoming titles will be and to ask any questions about joining us!

In sympathy
Please join us in praying for the family of Mike and Lisa Sahr, as they mourn the loss of Lisa’s father, Delbert. They ask that we also pray for Lisa’s mom, Norma, as she is recovering from hip surgery in the midst of grieving.
