Where is Jesus taking you?
Following Jesus is a journey to make disciples of all nations – here and abroad – as he commanded. Does this sound overwhelming? At Five Oaks, we want to help you and your family create change and share Christ’s love by connecting you with local and global ministry partners. Our Five Oaks Passport guide makes it easy to get started. You can pick up your Passport at the Impact Center between services this weekend to learn more.
Show up this weekend to learn more about short-term mission opportunities in the Middle East, Haiti and Cuba, and to hear from others currently serving in these places. You’ll also see many of our Impact partner ministries in the Commons this weekend. Stop by and ask your questions! Want some answers in the meantime? Email Kevin Johnson, kjohnson@fiveoakschurch.org.
Dedication? Baptism? What’s the difference? Learn more this weekend
Are you curious about what Dedication means at Five Oaks? Or perhaps you’re ready to take this first milestone step with your child? Join us March 3, 9 am in room 101 for our Dedication Milestone Class as we explore what the Bible says about dedication. To register, message Kelly Bauman on Realm. Our next dedications are April 6/7. Come to the class and get your questions answered!
Local impact: Would you bring a meal?
Many people have joined Five Oaks meal teams in order to encourage our foster families and families new to adoption. Not every team is full yet and we'd love to have you join us. Make plans to attend an organizational meeting THIS Sunday – March 3, 9 to 9:30 am in Room 102 to learn more and get involved. Or, email impact@fiveoakschurch.org to get answers to your questions.
Does Easter come and go too quickly?
Be intentional about taking time to prepare your heart for Easter. Join us at our Lent services as we take a closer look at Jesus’ journey to the cross. We’ll look at Old Testament prophecies fulfilled in Jesus and dive into six questions that Jesus asked during his ministry. Lent services begin this Thursday morning, March 7, and run through April 11 at 6:30 am. Coffee and Lent journals provided! Connect online if you can’t make it!
Join our mission (membership)
Membership is important at Five Oaks. It’s a way of saying, “I want to be part of the mission of this local church.” If you have a personal relationship with Christ and have completed Story of God (the class or in your small group), make plans to come to the next membership class on March 10, 9 am, in room 102. Please RSVP by emailing Pam Hawley at phawley@fiveoakschurch.org.
Fun without wi-fi? But how...?
Our 5th Annual Game Café, on Friday, March 29, offers up “no-wi-fi fun” that includes dinner, snacks, games of all types for kids and adults, our Five Oaks Trivia contest, inflatables in the gym, BINGO, and puzzles. Even better -- it’s all FREE from 6 ‘til 9 pm – a great way to connect with your Five Oaks family. Available to volunteer? Sign up HERE!
Roar into Vacation Bible School
Minnesota winters can get long, but soon we’ll be wearing shorts and staying cool at our Roar Vacation Bible School, June 10-13! Kids will embark on an African adventure and learn that God is always with them! We’re excited about a few changes this year – the first of which is that VBS runs Monday – Thursday. We’ll be able to reduce your cost a bit, plus add the highlights of VBS into the next weekend program. Mark your calendar!
Use your gifts to serve students
Is youth ministry intimidating to you? Or maybe you want to serve but aren’t sure how?? We have many ways to get involved weekly, monthly, and even annually! We have dozens of leaders each week discipling students, preparing food for leaders and students, helping out with camps and retreats, even helping set up and tear down! Message Henry Michael Williams on Realm to find out how you might help out.
Loving the next generation
We know that you want the next generation to fall in love with the word of God, but you may be overwhelmed at the idea of large classes or committing to serving on a regular basis. Five Oaks Kids is looking for more people to serve on Saturday nights (when numbers tend to not be overwhelming) or on the sub list. If you are interested in any of these, please email Kelly Bauman, kbauman@fiveoakschurch.org.
