Walk in their shoes next week -- right from home
Join us for the Matthew 25 Challenge, a one-week journey during which you’ll receive daily text message challenges that will give insight into the challenges that children across the world each day. For example, you might be challenged to sleep on the floor one night, or skip lunch another day. These experiences open doors for rich conversations with your kids (or your small group if your kids are grown!) about what kids around the world do without thinking about it each day. This one-week journey runs November 4-9. Text M25 to 44888 to get started today.

Family Worship Night: Yes, the whole family!
Fall is filled with all the things! When life feels crowded it can be difficult to take time to be filled spiritually. We’re making space for all ages to gather in community and experience the joy and the fullness of God through extended worship. Bring your whole family and join us for Family Worship Night on November 8, 6:30-8pm. We’ll worship together while experiencing a variety of musical styles, an open space where kids and grown-ups can move with freedom, and response stations for all ages that will be open throughout the evening. Family friendly! Invite your friends and neighbors!
High school Camp Getaway: Bring your pals!
High school can be crazy full with activities, work, and planning for the future. That’s why we take a weekend to get away, have a ton of fun, grow closer to Jesus, and closer to one another. On November 15-17, high schoolers have that chance to get away and breathe when we take over Camp Pepin, a YMCA camp near Red Wing. Register in Realm. Questions? Click here to email Henry Michael, or message him on Realm.
Would you like more peace about your finances?
Each year we offer Financial Peace University, a class taking you through the financial principles that align with the Bible and can help bring freedom and peace to your finances. Our next class starts in 2020, but a one-night live stream event on November 20, hosted in homes, can give you a jump start to Dave Ramsey’s approach. Interested? Write “FPU” & your email on your communication card.
An easy way to get involved
Ever dropped your kids off in Five Oaks Kids and thought, I don’t know how those volunteers do it? Maybe you have a heart for kids but a classroom full of children feels overwhelming? We have many opportunities to serve on Saturday nights where numbers are lower and connecting with kids feels easier. Interested, even once a month or as a sub? Click here to email Kelly Bauman, or message her on Realm.
Loving your city: Kids Hope USA (Impact passport “GO” opportunity)
Too many students stand just one caring adult relationship away from thriving in school and in life. Could you be that adult? As a Kids Hope mentor, you would spend one hour at Woodbury Elementary School with one student once a week – it’s simple, and it’s life-changing. Interested in getting involved, or at least asking a few more questions? Email khusa@fiveoakschurch.org.
HCC Friendship Meal November 16: All ages welcome! (Impact Passport “Set” Opportunity)
The best future missionaries to China are studying in your backyard. They just don’t know it yet. Would you like to meet some of them? We are again partnering with the Hospitality Center for Chinese to serve the Friendship Meal on Saturday, November 16. The commitment is from 4:40-8:30 pm. Children of all ages are welcome. Interested? Email impact@fiveoakschurch.org
First announcement for Christmas!
