What is the Five Oaks Kids Family Experience?
If you’re considering participating our Five Oaks Kids Family Experience this Sunday at 9 am in the gym, you may be wondering what to expect. Since it’s all brand new, here's a rundown of what it will look like.
Each week as families enter the gym, they’ll pick up their supplies and head to a table to sit together. After our welcome and announcements, we’ll start with a family activity or challenge to work on together with your family. We’ll then have a time of worship followed by the elementary video lesson from our amazing Orange curriculum. After that video, families will discuss what they learned using some guided questions, and then we’ll move into a craft time. During craft time, we’ll watch the pre-K lesson video. After that, families will experience communion together, and we’ll part ways with our benediction.
Parents, we know you want to stay current with our in-person worship service. As always, you can catch our online service on demand, when it works for you, at www.fiveoaks.church/weekend-sermons. You also can listen to just the sermon anytime on our podcast, by following this link: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sermon-audio-five-oaks-church/id207309186
We’re looking forward to seeing some of our youngest Five Oakers (and their parents of course!) at our Family Experience! If you haven’t yet RSVP’ed for this weekend and would like to come, click here to do so now. Questions? Please email Kelly Bauman at kbauman@fiveoakschurch.org.
Important update regarding masks
In accordance with Governor Walz's Emergency Executive Order 20-81, masks are now required for everyone attending our in-person worship services. Please click here to read the details of this executive order.
Reminder: We’re moving to 9 am this weekend!
Tie a string around your finger, set a ping in your phone, use a red pen on your wall calendar … whatever it takes!
In-person worship will start at 9 am in the worship center. You may check in for this service at the Welcome Center starting at 8:45. This worship service will require an advance online RSVP. Click here to reserve you spot.
Our brand-new Five Oaks Kids Family Experience will also start at 9 am in the gym. You may check in for this experience at the Welcome Center starting at 8:45. (More info on this above!)
Our online service will start at 9 am. We are pivoting from the Five Oaks at Home format to a live stream of the in-person worship service. This service will still contain several of the elements from Five Oaks at Home that we’ve all grown to love, such as the F.O.G. and prayers of the people. Note: The online service will also be available on demand afterward, so if 9 am doesn’t work for you, you may watch the worship service later on when it fits your schedule!
If you have questions about any of these worship options, please email Kelly Bauman at kbauman@fiveoakschurch.org or message her on Realm. We’re looking forward to worshiping with you, either online or in our building, at 9 am on August 9!
Blessing a foster family just got easier
Five Oaks has partnered with Washington County to provide meals to foster families. We know that fostering extra children is a big job, one that doesn't end when the workday ends. By helping provide supplemental meals, we are blessing these foster parents with one less thing to think about during their already full days of parenting and managing a home.
We currently have three small groups, comprised of 44 individuals, who are actively participating in meal teams. Some of the receiving foster families are Five Oakers; others are not.
This ministry is an easy way for you to invest in the lives of families who are standing in the gap for vulnerable children. By joining a team, you simply provide a store-bought meal to a foster family about once every other month. If you love this idea but are short on time, all you have to do is add an extra meal to your grocery run. You can look for items that require little to no preparation, as foster families appreciate easy and convenient, too.
How do I get involved or learn more info? Email meals@fiveoakschurch.org. In the last week, we’ve had seven new families join our meal team! We still have room for you!
We need your help!
Since we have started meeting for in-person worship, we still need fantastic volunteers to make services run smoothly.
We know many of you have been asking how you can serve your community, and this is a great way to do just that. While you begin to join us in the building, would you consider serving when you’re here?

Help our partner in India after massive cyclone
On May 20, one of the most powerful cyclones on record, cyclone Amphan, hit India in an impoverished area where one of our partners, Global Fingerprints, is working. The lack of power and extensive flooding have slowed initial relief efforts, so their local needs are many and palpable. You may donate to provide food and needed supplies by clicking here: https://give.efca.org/form_8c38d5ed
$32.45 can change a life – Back to School Powerpacks
Want to make a difference during this time of urban strife? When you and allow our partner, Cru Inner City, to provide back-to school PowerPacks you’re creating outreach opportunities for inner-city churches to make an eternal difference for kids and their families. Each PowerPack is packed with essential school supplies. These bags provide each student an opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus and build a connection with a local church body.
