Story of God class starts this weekend! Register now.
Our Story of God course is designed to help you read the Bible with greater understanding and experience scripture coming alive in your life. You’ll learn how the Bible fits together to tell one story and discover a relational approach to growing spiritually. This six-week course will help you see how this story of the Bible is relevant to your daily life. Our next class starts on January 12 at 9 am. If you’d like more info or want to register, go to storyofgod.church.

Would you like more financial freedom?
Each year we hold FPU, or Financial Peace University, a class that takes you through the financial principles in line with the Bible. The principles taught in this class can help bring freedom and peace into your finances.

Our next class starts on January 19 at 11 am in room 101. If you are interested, please go to www.fiveoaks.church/FPU  for more info and to register.

Men’s Summit Weekend: Coming up soon!
Sometimes we just need a breath. Take some time away from the grind, and join us at our Men’s Summit on January 24-26, to learn about what it means to be a man of God and come back more engaged with the everyday: in your family, at work, as a husband and in the church, uniquely as men in light of the gospel. Go to www.fiveoaks.church/summit to sign up. Grab a card at the ministry cart in the commons for more info!

Five Oaks Students: So many ways to get involved

You can even shadow our current volunteers to see what might work for you. Click here to email Henry Michael to get involved.

Hurricane Harvey relief – Impact Passport “go” opportunity
Hurricane Harvey hit the Houston area more than two years ago, but many people are still displaced, their homes in shambles. Bring them hope and show them the love of Christ by joining the Five Oaks team to Houston April 5-10. No special skills needed: simple cleaning to light construction work awaits us. Your most important work will be giving HOPE through your words and actions. Interested? Email impact@fiveoakschurch.org, or message Kevin Johnson on Realm.

Do you have some Friday morning free time?
Maybe you love kids but serving in the classroom doesn’t fit your schedule. We’re looking for a few volunteers who available Friday mornings to reset the books and toys before the weekend. We have busy weeks here at Five Oaks with a lot of people in and out of the classrooms, and we would love some help resetting for the weekend. Interested? Please click here to email Kelly Bauman, or message her on Realm.

Have you seen my...?
...winter hat? Gloves? Bible? Water bottle? Our lost and found is overflowing with blessings unwittingly left behind. If you lost something, please stop by the welcome center this weekend or next to take a gander. Please also stop by the kitchen to peruse the sizable collection of coffee vessels and water bottles. We’ll donate unclaimed items on January 19.

Ever wondered what those papers are for…?
Hey parents of Five Oaks Kids! Along with parenting tips and resources, you are also being given a monthly Bible verse that you can work on with your child as well as a weekly devotional (for elementary students). We have started to reward children with small prizes for memorizing the monthly Bible verse as well as turning in a completed devotional sheet. We hope to encourage you to set aside a little bit of time each week to “train up your child in the way they should go…” Proverbs 22:6
