Two new ways to worship at Five Oaks
Remember when your weekend decision about going to church sounded like, “Are we going to the 9:00 or 11:00 service?" Now, it’s more complicated, and you need different options to figure out what will work best from week-to-week. That’s why we're continually adjusting the ways we worship. Starting Sunday, August 9 we are offering you TWO new ways to worship at Five Oaks.
First, our Five Oaks at Home online service will be adjusting to a live stream of our in-person Sunday service starting on August 9. You'll still enjoy many of the same features we've introduced as part of our Five Oaks At Home service, like the weekly FOG and prayers of the people, but with some new equipment, we can now share our worship and preaching LIVE from Five Oaks on Sundays. You will access our online service the same ways you have in the past. And if you can't join us live, don't worry because the live stream will be available on-demand after the service is over.
Second, we will be offering a new in-person service format for families called our Five Oaks Kids Family Experience. This service, designed for families with kids up through grade 5, uses the engaging and fun Orange curriculum and is created for the entire family to worship at church as a group. The Five Oaks Kids Family Experience will take place in the gym and will be led by our Five Oaks Kids staff starting on August 9 at 9 am.
Our regular in-person service will also be moving from 11 am to 9 am starting August 9. We'll share more details in the coming weeks for all the ways you can worship at Five Oaks. For now, mark August 9 at 9 am on your calendar, and you can pick the option that works best for you and your family.
Important update regarding masks
In accordance with Governor Walz's Emergency Executive Order 20-81, masks are now required for everyone attending our in-person worship services. Please click here to read the details of this executive order.
Coffee Talk with the Pastors: You can ask all your questions!

Join us for Coffee Talk with the Pastors on August 9 at 2 pm..This one-hour Zoom call will give you the opportunity to ask questions, meet our lead pastor, Henry Williams, and several other pastors and staff, and meet others who also are new to Five Oaks. We’ll even deliver a variety of beverage options and activities for your kids to your door before the Zoom call. To register for Coffee Talk with the Pastors, click here.
Blessing a foster family just got easier
Five Oaks has partnered with Washington County to provide meals to foster families. We know that fostering extra children is a big job, one that doesn't end when the workday ends. By helping provide supplemental meals, we are blessing these foster parents with one less thing to think about during their already full days of parenting and managing a home.
We currently have three small groups, comprised of 44 individuals, who are actively participating in meal teams. Some of the receiving foster families are Five Oakers; others are not.
This ministry is an easy way for you to invest in the lives of families who are standing in the gap for vulnerable children. By joining a team, you simply provide a store-bought meal to a foster family about once every other month. If you love this idea but are short on time, all you have to do is add an extra meal to your grocery run. You can look for items that require little to no preparation, as foster families appreciate easy and convenient, too.
How do I get involved or learn more info? Email meals@fiveoakschurch.org. In the last week, we’ve had seven new families join our meal team! We still have room for you!
We need your help!
As we have started Gathering Again in person, we still need fantastic volunteers to make services run smoothly.
We know many of you have been asking how you can serve your community, and this is a great way to do just that. While you begin to join us in the building, would you consider serving when you’re here?

Help our partner in India after massive cyclone
On May 20, one of the most powerful cyclones on record, cyclone Amphan, hit India in an impoverished area where one of our partners, Global Fingerprints, is working. The lack of power and extensive flooding have slowed initial relief efforts, so their local needs are many and palpable.
