Weekend of July 3+4

Please pray for our students in July

As you take time to enjoy this holiday weekend with friends and family, please add Five Oaks Students to your prayers for the month of July. We have many exciting ministry opportunities in our building during July that would only be better with the blessing of your prayers. July 6-9: FCA Camp. We’re preparing for about 100 campers and volunteers in our building next week, and campers will learn how they can PURSUE Jesus in all they do, athletics and otherwise. July 11-16 and July 18-23, we’ll be housing two different APEX high school missions teams, both of whom will be serving in the Twin Cities area. The second team, July 18-23, is comprised of Five Oaks Students. Please join us in praying for all of these camps and teams, that God would both protect them and challenge them during their week at Five Oaks.

What to expect in Five Oaks Kids this weekend and every weekend
You may notice that this weekend looks different in Five Oaks Kids. Families have the chance to attend worship services together on July 3+4, but on most weekends we provide full programming for all kids up through fifth grade. Each week, your kids learn from a curriculum called Orange. They worship together, listen to a Bible story and its application, and take time for a craft and play. We love to see your kids each week and look forward to meeting you parents if you’re new. Questions? Email Kelly Bauman, kbauman@fiveoakschurch.org.

Ladies: Mark your calendar for fun and fellowship
Women’s ministry is looking forward to moving back to full programming in the fall, both in the building and in each other’s homes. Join us for an evening of fellowship, food and re-connection as we gather at church to learn more about the exciting fall ministry events that our leadership team is planning. August 5, starting at 7 pm. More details to come. Questions? Contact Kathleen Miller, skmiller90@gmail.com.

Putting the unreached within reach
Some of you may have heard about “unreached people groups” and the 10-40 window. Next week you will hear about Global Fingerprints and the simple ways you can partner with them in reaching the unreached and planting churches in places like Indonesia, Myanmar, India, and Vietnam – while ministering to vulnerable children. Interested in a sneak peek? Email impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Make the most of those parenting moments this summer
Summer is a great time to be intentional about connecting as a family. Our Family Discipleship Team created a series of four short videos in hopes of coming alongside you as parents and helping you maximize opportunities you may encounter with your kids and students this summer. These videos cover the five essential rhythms for families to thrive together. You can access any of these videos and resources on our website: www.fiveoaks.church/family.

Your willing hands and smile will go a long way this summer
It’s hard to believe that June is nearly behind us! Many of our regular Five Oaks Kids volunteers have travel plans this summer, which means we’d love any help you can offer up on any given weekend. Our staff does most of the teaching, but we’d love your help to just have fun with the kids, help them with crafts, games, and group discussions. Interested? Will you add a couple of items to your grocery store run?
Could you and your family provide a store-bought meal once per month to a foster family in Washington County? We are looking for extra help with our Five Oaks Foster Family Meal Team. Your willingness to pick up and drop off an easy-prep meal for a foster family helps provide a basic need to these families who are standing in the gap for vulnerable children. Interested in this simple, once-per-month way to show the love of Christ to others? Text Juli Servatius at 651-206-9034 or email impact@fiveoakschurch.org.
