FCA Camp is coming to Five Oaks!

Students finishing 4th to 7th grade are going to have a blast at FCA Camp this summer, July 6-9, playing games, learning new sports and discovering how we can PURSUE Jesus in all that we do–school, family, sports and play. This camp is for kids who love sports or who just love to move around. It’s highly interactive with the same station style as VBS. High school/college students can volunteer to be Huddle or Station Captains, and Middle schoolers can volunteer as Junior Captains. Campers will get an FCA t-shirt and Bible, and a snack each day. Bring a water bottle and come ready to play outside! Click here to register now in Realm. Questions? Email Kyler Albert, kalbert@fiveoakschurch.org.

Bring your mom or mom figure to Five Oaks this weekend!
Moms play an important role in our lives, from a hug and a kiss for a skinned knee, to plodding through math homework with their kids, to helping raise grandchildren, and everything in between. We know that the person you call “Mom” might be your mom, or she may be a stepmom, an aunt, a grandmother, or even a caring neighbor. Mark your calendar for Mother’s Day, on May 9, and bring that mom-type person to Five Oaks with you. We have some treats planned and an open-air Covid-friendly photo booth on tap. (Note: we’ll have treats on May 8 as well, but the photo booth is reserved for May 9 only.) Show Mom how much you love her on Mother’s Day at Five Oaks!

Fifth grade families: Get a sneak peek at Student Ministry
Fifth graders and parents! You’re invited to our annual fifth grade preview night on May 12, 6-7:30pm. This is an easy way to ease your student into the ministry and get them connected to community as you start to navigate the middle school years! Your student will join in our weekly rhythms of worship, teaching, and groups, and parents will have a short parent meeting and introduction to the ministry! Pizza, snack, and drinks will be available for purchase at the Acorn Café. Click here for more details and registration info.

$10 Global 6k registration discount - and a party for You and Your Friends!
Why is our goal to have 30 percent of our Global 6K Team from outside of Five Oaks? So you can invite your friends into what’s important to you, and to help them see that they can be part of a larger story. Each registration provides clean water for one person FOR LIFE. The Global 6K is May 22 at 8 or 10 am at Colby Lake Park. Oh, and a party at the park afterward! Bring the whole family. Enjoy a $10 per person discount by registering at www.fiveoaks.church/global-6k. and using the promo code fiveoaks.

You like to be helpful. And you like a party.
The Global 6K for Water on May 22 is an event you won’t want to miss! (See details, above.) In order to make it run smoothly, and to maximize the fun at the party following, we’d love your help! Already planning to participate? You can volunteer either before or after your scheduled time to run or walk. This is also a great way to get involved even if you don’t plan to run or walk. Interested in helping us peg the fun-o-meter for this event? Go to www.fiveoaks.church/global-6k.

Middle school: New promo code for Camp Getaway!
Hey middle school families! When you recruit a middle school friend, not otherwise affiliated with Five Oaks, to join your middle schooler at Camp Getaway, June 8-13, both you and the friend will receive $50 off your camp registration! (Offer applies even if you have already registered!) To receive the promo code, email Kyler Albert, kalbert@fiveoakschurch.org. But don’t delay – offer ends May 9. (That’s Mother’s Day, so think of this as a Mother’s Day gift from Five Oaks Students!)

Do you like being a little creative?
How would you like to help us implement a plan for creating the VBS decor and decorations? We have a variety of projects that need willing hands – you don’t even have to be artistic! Join us on May 16 starting at 1 pm in the gym.  We always have fun and would love your help! Interested? Email Kelly Bauman, kbauman@fiveoakschurch.org. Bring your friends! We hope to see you there!

Middle and high school students: You can run, but you can’t hide from Henry Michael
and Kyler this summer
Even though the pace of life is slower in the summer, we still want to connect with you middle and high schoolers for some fun, activities, and a study over the summer! More details to come, but look forward to campfires, night games, worship, a movie night or two, and some time spent in the Word on Wednesdays. Our schedule will be lighter, so stay tuned for dates and times!

Ladies: IF:Table is back! Deep discussion + fun!
Do you miss meaningful, in-person conversations with other women? We will discuss monthly questions that lead to heart-level conversations about life and Jesus. Options available on May 22 include: 4:30-5:45 pm with Five Oaks Kids programing, OR a longer gathering starting at 6:00 pm without child care included, and staying after for fun together! Mark your calendar for May 22 at 4:30 pm or 6:00 pm. Click here to sign up, put “IF:TABLE.” Questions? Please email theresa.gulsvig@gmail.com.
