Last chance to register for Five Oaks Fun Night!

So much FREE fun! Inflatables, a chili cook-off, a movie for the kids and Team Trivia for teens and adults...plus supper. We’re throwing a party for YOU – our church family! We’re looking forward to an evening of unabashed fun, and we hope you’ll join us and bring a neighbor along. Friday, October 8, 6-9 pm. If you’d like to help us make this a fun night to remember, please consider volunteering at the event as well. (YES! You can volunteer for part of the night and play for the rest of the night!) Register here – either to volunteer or to attend – or both — by October 4.

Bring Sunday into the rest of the week|
Have you ever felt energized after leaving church on the weekend, ready to bring that light into your week? And by Monday morning, you forgot what that central idea was? Joining a small group can help you apply what you learn on the weekends in a community setting. Meeting in small groups is a way to form friendships based on common ground, to surround yourself with people who will support you, pray for you, laugh with you, and show up for you. Whether it’s a men’s group, a women’s group, or a couple’s group, it’s easy to get involved. Get started here.

Two important events upcoming for high schoolers
•Camp Getaway, October 15-17.
High school only. Don’t miss the games, time with friends, food, fun and Story of God taught by Pastor Henry. Click here to register.
Reality Conference for high schoolers, November 12+13. This conference will help students better understand why we believe what we do and in turn be able to discuss their beliefs when challenged. Conference is at Grace Church, Eden Prairie. More info and registration here.

Do you love to cook, organize & impact?
Are you concerned for the homeless and hungry? Over the last 16 years many have learned, under the leadership of Tim and Cindy Wiant, in a culture of fellowship and humble service, to prep and serve meals for “the least of these” at Dorothy Day Center. If you love to organize teams and cook for groups, consider this: the Wiants would like to mentor others to co-lead this ministry to ensure that it will continue for many years. Interested in learning the ropes and making an enduring impact? Please email impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Feed My Starving Children (Impact Passport “Ready” opportunity)
Hope begins with food! Join us Saturday, October 30 as we partner with Feed My Starving Children to pack meals for the desperately poor at the FMSC headquarters in Eagan, 11:30 am - 1:15 pm. This is both a great opportunity to serve as a family—ages 5 and up are welcome—and a chance to reach out to your friends and neighbors. Inviting them to join you is an easy way to show them what is important to you and that they can be part of a larger story. Register here

Kids’ next steps in faith
Taking next steps in faith can be so exciting, yet also feel overwhelming at times. To help you guide your kids through their next steps, we would love to meet with you and talk about either our Family Dedication Milestone or our Baptism Milestone. We will be celebrating both of these exciting steps of faith the weekend of November 20+21. We would love to have you and your child participate if they’re interested. Please email Kelly Bauman to set up a time to meet.

Ladies: Register now for our October TABLE
Join fellow Five Oaks Women at our next TABLE gatherings, Tuesday, October 5, 6:30 pm at the home of Becky Vierling, or Wednesday, October 6, 9:30 am at Five Oaks Church. This is a potluck style meal with fellowship and a time of guided conversation. All are welcome; invite your friends and join us for a time of connection. Click here for more info and to register.

Save the date: Congregational Meeting November 7
Mark your calendar now to join us on November 7, 4 pm, at church for our annual congregational meeting. We’ll have a short business meeting followed by a time of fellowship and some light refreshments. Child care will be provided. More details to follow.

Pickleball for seniors (55+) at Five Oaks Church
Come join local pickleball instructors, Deb and Jim Propes, for some great pickleball fun this fall. Open play will begin on October 5 and take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 2-3:30pm. If you do not already own a paddle, don’t buy one. A paddle will be provided and instructions will be given on how to best pick a paddle for you to avoid an expensive mistake!
