Bring Sunday into Monday

Have you ever felt energized after leaving church on the weekend, ready to bring that light into your week? And by Monday morning, you forgot what that central idea was? Joining a small group can help you apply what you learn on the weekends in a community setting. Meeting in small groups is a way to form friendships based on common ground, to surround yourself with people who will support you, pray for you, laugh with you, and show up for you. Whether it’s a men’s group, a women’s group, or a couple’s group, it’s easy to get involved. Get started here.

Kids’ next steps in faith
As parents, it’s up to us to help our kids take their first steps in faith. Sometimes, we need to help them along with the next steps, too. To help with that, we have two classes on October 3 -- a Family Dedication Class at 9:00 and a Baptism and Communion Class at 10:45. Our Faith Milestone Celebration will be on November 20+21. On that weekend we will celebrate both our Family Dedications and Baptisms. If you’re interested in either class, please email Kelly Bauman.

We’d love your help at Five Oaks Fun Night!
In honor of fall and all things fun, we’re throwing a party on October 8 – just for you, our church family! This all-ages FREE event will include a free supper, huge inflatables, Team Trivia for teens and adults, lawn games, a kids’ movie, and all-new this year...a chili cook-off! To make this event amazing, we have several ways to get involved and volunteer. Best of all, you can volunteer for half the event and enjoy the event with your family and friends before or after! October 8, 6-9 pm at Five Oaks. Register for the event or to volunteer here. Get your fun pants ready!

Do you love to cook, organize & impact?
Are you concerned for the homeless and hungry? Over the last 16 years many have learned, under the leadership of Tim and Cindy Wiant, in a culture of fellowship and humble service, to prep and serve meals for “the least of these” at Dorothy Day Center. If you love to organize teams and cook for groups, consider this: the Wiants would like to mentor others to co-lead this ministry to ensure that it will continue for many years. Interested in learning the ropes and making an enduring impact? Please email Kevin Johnson.

Would you like to meet our Hope Academy student?
Remember Hope Academy in Minneapolis? They are carrying hope to the city by providing a remarkable education to inner-city students. A portion of your BLESS campaign contributions is providing tuition for one student at Hope Academy. You have the opportunity to visit Hope Academy and meet that student on Partner Day, Thursday September 30, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Interested? Email Kevin Johnson here.

Ladies: Register now for our October TABLE
