Weekend of April 9+10

World Vision Global 6K: Register now!

Children have to walk an average of 6K every day in developing countries to access water (that might not even be clean). How can we help with this from across the globe? We’ve got an opportunity on May 14 at Colby Lake Park right here in Woodbury! Five Oaks is partnering with World Vision to host the Global 6k for Water. You can run, walk, bike, volunteer, push strollers, etc. Your registration fee pays for one person to have clean water for LIFE. This will be a day of fun as we celebrate providing individuals with clean water. More details and registration here. Questions? Email Dave Baar at impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Want to help out at the Global 6K?

If running/walking for the Global 6k for Water isn’t an option, we’d love for you to participate by volunteering at the event on May 14 at Colby Lake Park. Set-up crew, snack table, check-in, and cheering are just a few examples. Find a volunteer role here. Questions? Email Dave Baar at impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Unwrapping your spiritual gift
The best way to serve others is when it comes from a place of pure joy. By serving in a spot that maximizes our spiritual gifting, we often find that serving doesn’t feel like serving. Ladies, join us for our Spiritual Gift workshop, April 30, 9 am-noon. This workshop is designed to help you explore the topic of spiritual gifts and begin to discern how to use that gift to serve others in the church and the community. Cost: $10. Interested? Register here. Questions? Email our women’s ministry here.

Students: Save the dates for summer trip fundraising
We’re looking forward to many meaningful adventures with our middle and high school students this summer at Camp Getaway and on our Challenge trip. Join us on April 23 and May 7 as we work together on summer trip fundraising. We’ll go into the community in groups to sell coupon cards. This is an opportunity to help offset the cost of these summer trips. Register here for April 23 AND here for May 7. We need parents, too! Pizza, snacks and cash prizes are on the agenda! Questions? Email Henry Michael.

Register now for summer camps & serve opportunities!
Hey, families of middle (MS) and high school students (HS)! Registrations are now open in Realm for these impactful and crazy fun summer camps. Email Kyler Albert with questions.
June 7-12: MS Camp Getaway.

July 11-14: Elementary & MS FCA Sports Camp.

Vacation Bible School: Register now!
By mid-July, your kids may be facing the “I’m bored!” summer blahs. Skip the warm-weather doldrums by sending them to Monumental Vacation Bible School at Five Oaks, July 11-14. At Monumental VBS, kids will celebrate God’s greatness through music, outdoors and gym games, crafts, and Bible teaching! 9:15-noon, open to kids ages 3 as of 9/1/21 and potty trained up through finishing third grade. (Note: This year, third graders need to choose either VBS or FCA Camp, which will take place the same week, but in the afternoon. More info on FCA Camp below.) Cost: $45. More details & registration info here. Questions? Email Kelly Bauman.

FCA camp: Sports + faith

If your student is finishing grade 3-7, they should make plans to join us at our FCA Camp this summer at Five Oaks. July 11-14, 1-4 pm. Campers will play outside in a station-style format that is similar to what they’ve experienced in VBS. They’ll learn how they can apply their faith to a sports setting or any other team setting. FCA t-shirt included. Third graders will need to choose between VBS and FCA Camp this year. Cost: $45. More info and registration here. Questions? Email students@fiveoakschurch.org.

Children’s Easter Choir: Make a joyful noise!

Kids, what's better than singing by yourself? Singing with others! God tells us that singing together is an important part of following him, and that's why you should join the Five Oaks Kids choir as we sing and praise God together. There's only one rehearsal, and one song. It's going to be awesome! We’ll have one rehearsal on April 10 directly following the second service. For more information, email Kelly Bauman. We look forward to worshiping God with you!

Share the joy of Easter: Host an international student
Could you make room for an extra person in your plans for Easter this year? The Hospitality Center on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus is working to connect international students with opportunities to spend Easter with families in the Twin Cities. It’s a great opportunity to connect, learn and share the joy of Easter with someone from another part of the world. Interested? Put ‘Easter Hosting’ on your connect card and we’ll get you connected! Questions? Email impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Easy ways to serve at Easter
If you’re already planning to worship with us at Easter, why not consider jumping in to serve at a different worship service? This is a chance to try a brand new volunteer spot, and it’s also an easy way to help first-time guests and out-of-towners feel welcome at Five Oaks. To try a role in our Connections ministry, click here. To serve with our littlest (and frankly, cutest!) Five Oakers, email Kelly Bauman and she will help you find a spot that fits your schedule.

Do you love chalk art?

If you love lettering or sketching in chalk, we’d love for you to share your talents with our Chalkboard Art Team. This team creates the chalkboards in our commons spaces for weekend promotions and special events. This is a great “serve-on-your-schedule” opportunity! Interested? Email Peg Benson.

What is 'Secret Church'-?
In many parts of the world, it's illegal to follow Jesus, which means believers must find safe, secretive ways to worship God and study the Word together. Secret Church simulates that reality in a nationwide televised event on April 29 from 5pm-midnight at Five Oaks. We’ll worship, study, and pray for the persecuted church. Questions? Email Dave Baar at impact@fiveoakschurch.org.
