Five Oaks goes to the movies
Did you know that one of our summer traditions here at Five Oaks is to take our volunteers to the movies? Last week, over 150 Five Oaks volunteers gathered at the theater to enjoy the new release, DC League of Super-Pets. This was a huge THANK YOU for all volunteers who serve in any capacity at Five Oaks. Getting connected with others is a wonderful reason to start serving, and it’s easier than ever to get the process going. Whether it’s once a month, once a week, serving on stage or from home, there’s something for everyone! If you’re interested in learning more about one of our many serve opportunities, email John Eiselt.
Are you handy? Want to serve with your small group?
If you love to help with odd jobs, New Life Family Services and The Dwelling Place would welcome your help in the weeks ahead. NLFS is opening a new location in the Phillips neighborhood in September, and they’re looking for volunteers to help with getting their building ready. The Dwelling Place is also looking for handy volunteers who would like to donate their time and skills between now and fall. For more info about either of these opportunities or future dates, email Dave Baar.

A hands-on way to grow god’s kids
As we stock up on school supplies for the upcoming school year, we pray for our kids to thrive in school AND thrive in their understanding of God’s truths and their place in the Story of God. The best part is – you can play a role in that! Serving in Five Oaks Kids is an easy way to build bridges with God’s next generation. Our staff does all the prep work, so your focus is to make connections with kids. We have a variety of roles: greeting, nursery, preschool and elementary. Interested? Email Kelly Bauman.
