Weekend of February 19+20

Upgrade your weekend

If you haven’t already discovered all the great things about Saturdays at Five Oaks, you’ll want to join us every Saturday at 4:30 pm for great worship, full kids programming, and free snacks before and after the service. It’s a great way to save some stress on Sunday mornings, too! Come join us and you’ll see why many others love this rhythm. And, this weekend at all services, you can look forward to an update from Pastor Love on all things Five Oaks Goodness!

Do you love to write?
If you have a talent for the written word, consider joining our DailyLife Writers Team. This team of volunteers writes our daily Five Oaks devotionals that are based on the weekly sermon series. This is a great opportunity to serve our church on your schedule – at home, in a coffee shop, in your pj’s, whatever you choose. Interested? Put “Writer” on your connect card, or email Danny Martin.

Calling all volunteers in Five Oaks Kids and Students!
We know you give a lot of your time and energy to our kids and students each week. We’d like to thank you for your sacrifice with an appreciation dinner and training on February 26 at 6 pm. You can expect great food, treats and even a few prizes, plus some relevant training to make your volunteer role more meaningful and enjoyable. If you serve on Wednesday nights or on the weekends – including middle and high school volunteers – please join us! Register here.

THANK YOU Five Oaks - New Life Family Services
Thanks to the generosity of so many Five Oakers, we were able to collect over 240 packs of baby wipes to donate to New Life Family Services as they serve families in our community.  To learn more about how you can serve at New Life Family Services, check out their volunteer page here.

Is your college-aged student looking for a summer internship?
Now is the time to be thinking and planning for a summer internship! If you’re a senior in high school or a college student, please consider applying to be our Impact intern this summer. It’s a great opportunity to get hands-on experience working in various ministry opportunities, connecting with resources for careers in global ministry, and experiencing a short-term mission trip (scholarship included!). If you’re interested, or just want to get more information, email Dave Baar.

Story of God: Six weeks to greater Bible comprehension
Understanding the big picture helps us engage more meaningfully in the everyday of life. Come learn about the one big story the Bible tells and how you are a part of that story. The class is only six weeks long with daily readings and a leader to engage in conversation each week when you get together. Don’t miss the opportunity to help you grow spiritually by understanding the Bible’s story from start to finish.
Register and more info here.

Open gym time is BACK!
If your kids (or you) are going a little stir crazy during the winter, sign up for a time to use the Five Oaks gym! Pickleball and basketball equipment is provided, but feel free to bring any other activity equipment you want. Please limit to 1 hour per group, per day. You MUST bring dry athletic shoes (non-scuffing) to wear, as NO street shoes are allowed on the gym floor. Sign-up here.
