Lent at Five Oaks: Prepare your heart for Easter
With so many good things competing for our time and attention these days, we want to invite you to join us on Thursday evenings during Lent to slow down and prepare your heart for Easter. We’ll look to scripture and study an encounter with Jesus, and we’ll see that even though his story is told in the New Testament, every part of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection was foreshadowed in the Old Testament. This in turn underscores how Jesus still shows up for us each day, even during the busiest of seasons. Thursdays, 7-8 pm, starting March 3. Childcare provided.
Last call: Faith Milestone Celebrations
Are you or one of your kids ready to take a step of faith in an important milestone? On March 19+20, we’re offering an opportunity to remember and acknowledge God’s faithfulness at our next Faith Milestone Celebration. At each worship service that weekend we offer a Family Dedication service along with Baptisms. If you missed our prep class for these milestones, but still want to participate, we’d love to meet with you. Our final call is March 1 for these meetings. Interested? Email Kelly Bauman.
Serve a meal at Dorothy Day
If you’d like to make a difference to our neighbors in St. Paul, join us to prepare and serve a meal at the Dorothy Day Center on March 5, 9:30 am-1:15 pm. Interested? If you have a talent for the written word, consider joining our DailyLife Writers Team. This team of volunteers writes our daily Five Oaks devotionals that are based on the weekly sermon series. Membership is important at Five Oaks. What is ‘Secret Church’-?
What if following Jesus were illegal where you live, which in turn meant you had to walk miles to find other believers? You’d likely spend hours together praying, worshiping, and studying God’s Word. Secret Church simulates this reality for persecuted Christians. Join the national simulcast on April 29, 5 pm-12 am at Five Oaks, as we worship, study, and pray for the persecuted church. Open gym time is BACK!
If your kids (or you) are going a little stir crazy during the winter, sign up for a time to use the Five Oaks gym! Pickleball and basketball equipment is provided, but feel free to bring any other activity equipment you want. Please limit to 1 hour per group, per day. You MUST bring dry athletic shoes (non-scuffing) to wear, as NO street shoes are allowed on the gym floor. Sign-up here.
