Weekend of January 29+30

Invest in your marriage on February 19

Mark your calendar for a morning marriage workshop called Real Connection, led by Steve Lutz of Counseling Care and his wife, Michelle. During this workshop, couples will learn how to listen effectively and resolve conflict in a healthy way, plus understand the importance of making time for fun and growing together emotionally and spiritually. The workshop will also include time for couples to discuss and practice what they’re learning together. February 19, 8:30 am-12:30 pm. Cost: $100 per couple. Register by January 31 and save $50. Registration info here. Questions? Email Jonathan Haage.

Got questions about baptism or dedication?
We want to come alongside you as your child takes important steps in their faith journey. We have two milestone classes upcoming on February 6: A Family Dedication class at 9 am and a Communion/Baptism class at 10:45 am. These will help you with questions and conversations your family will have around these milestones. We’ll be celebrating both of these faith milestones the weekend of March 19+20, so now is a great time to start. Please email Kelly Bauman to register or for more info on either class.

if you like people, you may love this
Are you friendly? Do you like to make people feel welcomed and comfortable? Do you love Five Oaks and are looking for a fun way to serve? If you answered “yes” to any of those, you might be a great addition to our Connections Team as an Usher or Concierge! We are looking to fill a few spots on these teams, so if this sounds interesting to you, please email Pam Hawley.

Valentine’s weekend – Feed My Starving Children
Share your LOVE for children in desperate need of food around the world by joining with your Five Oaks family members to pack meals at Feed My Starving Children in Eagan on February 12, 11:30 am–1:15 pm. Register now, as our 65 slots can fill up fast. Questions? Email Dave Baar.

Story of God: Six weeks to greater Bible comprehension
Understanding the big picture helps us engage more meaningfully in the everyday of life. Come learn about the one big story the Bible tells and how you are a part of that story. The class is only six weeks long with daily readings and a leader to engage in conversation each week when you get together. Don’t miss the opportunity to help you grow spiritually by understanding the Bible’s story from start to finish.

Looking for a summer internship?
Now is the time to be thinking and planning for a summer internship! If you’re a senior in high school or a college student, please consider applying to be our Impact intern this summer. It’s a great opportunity to get hands-on experience working in various ministry opportunities, connecting with resources for careers in global ministry, and experiencing a short-term mission trip (scholarship included!). If you’re interested, or just want to get more information, email Dave Baar.

Open gym time is BACK!
If your kids (or you) are going a little stir crazy during the winter, sign up for a time to use the Five Oaks gym! Pickleball and basketball equipment is provided, but feel free to bring any other activity equipment you want. Please limit to 1 hour per group, per day. You MUST bring dry athletic shoes (non-scuffing) to wear, as NO street shoes are allowed on the gym floor. Sign-up here.

DailyLife podcast: Now airing!
Want a simple, free tool to follow Jesus more closely in your daily life? Subscribe to our DailyLife devotional, a devotional written and edited by a volunteer team at Five Oaks, by clicking here. This devotional follows and expands on our weekly sermons. If time is a stressor, you can even find our DailyLife podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcast and listen while you work or commute. Need more info? Email Peg Benson .

We'll add you to our waiting lists
We're thrilled that Middle School Meltdown and High School Challenge have been so well-received, but we regret to share that both events are full. If you'd like to be added to the Meltdown waiting list, email Kyler Albert. To be added to the Challenge wait list, email Henry Michael.

Do you have a heart to help a student get to camp?
We have a great problem: Many meaningful and memorable experiences are on our horizon! It is our heart and mission to not leave any student behind because of the cost. Due to an increase in camp fees, travel cost, and food prices, we do provide scholarships for every major student ministry event. If you would like to help sponsor a middle school student for the Middle School Meltdown or Camp Getaway, please email Kyler Albert.
