Dorothy Day: Note the date change in July
If you’d like to make a difference to our neighbors in St. Paul, join us to prepare and serve a meal at the Dorothy Day Center. Dorothy Day is always the first Saturday of every other month, but July is different: Saturday, July 16,  9:30 am-1:15 pm. Interested? Email Cindy and Tim Wiant. Tim and Cindy will get back to you with confirmation of your spot on our team for this date. Volunteers need to be at least 14 years old.

Do you like to write?
If you ever find yourself proofreading a restaurant menu, or if you can hardly wait to play Wordle each day, or if you simply love writing of any kind, we’d love chat with you about joining our DailyLife team as a writer or editor. This is a self-paced opportunity to serve at home. For more information, email Danny Martin.

FCA Camp: An action-packed serve opportunity
If you have a middle or high schooler who loves the teams format of Vacation Bible School and wants to serve God in an active way, we’d love for his or her help at FCA Camp, July 11-14, 1-4 pm. We’re looking for group leaders, snack team help, and sports station help, to name a few. Interested? More details and registration here.

Baby snuggles on the agenda
Do you love to rock babies and play with our youngest Five Oakers? What if you knew that by filling this role in our church, you were in turn helping moms build important faith-bridging connections with other ladies? We’re currently seeking people to serve in our nursery on Wednesday mornings during Five Oaks Women’s ministry events starting in September. This is a paid position with flexibility. Interested or have questions? Email Kelly Bauman .

Help wanted: Kids Hope USA leadership
Our Kids Hope USA partnership with Woodbury Elementary spans 10+ years and has impacted the lives of over 100 kids. If you have a heart for kids, and you are looking for a leadership role that will pair your love for Jesus with your organizational and coordinating skills, please prayerfully consider joining the leadership team of this key local Impact ministry. Interested? Have questions? Please email Dave Baar.

Warm smiles are welcome!
Are you someone who loves to help others connect? As our church grows, we’re welcoming lots of new families, which means we’re looking to expand our Five Oaks Kids Greeter Team. People often comment how warm and inviting our church is, and we’d love for you to be a part of that! Interested? Please put “Greeting with Kids” on your connect card. Questions? Email Kelly Bauman.

Students’ summer programming: Friends are invited!
We kicked off our summer programming this week for middle and high schoolers! Your students are invited this Wednesday, June 29, 7-9 pm for games, snacks and a summer Bible study. Bring a friend! For more details check the schedule here. Questions? Email Kyler or Henry Michael.

Ladies and gents: Looking to make new friendships this summer?
Summer can be a great time to meet some new friends, and we’d love to help you do that. Both our men’s and women’s ministries have some great opportunities for connection over the summer. Our men’s ministry, Journeymen, will meet every other Saturday at 7 am. They will meet for Bible study and fellowship at church. Our women’s ministry, Five Oaks Women, will meet for Wednesday morning park playdates, and a Tuesday evening Bible study in the backyard of one of our volunteer leaders. Both men’s and women’s groups would love for you to show up when you can. Interested? Email Matt Karasek for info on men’s summer offering. Women’s summer info is here.

Undie Sunday (or Saturday) coming soon!

Starting the weekend of July 9/10, we’re having a sock and underwear drive in the commons. We are partnering with a local nonprofit, called The Drawer, that seeks to provide clean socks and underwear to those experiencing homelessness and to the underprivileged in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. Their mission is to help provide these essential needs to those who need them the most. Be sure to drop them off in the commons anytime in the month of July.  More details about The Drawer here. Questions? Email Dave Baar

The doors to Cuba are opening
The church of Jesus Christ in Cuba has many needs, but it also has much to teach us about resilience and dependence on God. After several years of complete lock-down, the doors to Cuba are finally opening again, and we have an opportunity to restart our partnership with the Los Piños Nuevos church in Cuba. In order for that to happen, we need a Five Oaker to step forward to champion this partnership. If you speak Spanish and God is working in your heart to serve him through this partnership, put “Cuba” on your connect card or email Dave Baar
