Are you too busy?
Our lives are full of good activities that help us succeed in every area. With these busy schedules, we usually hurry from place to place, relegating an intentional walk with Jesus to the back burner. We need a plan. To help you make that plan, we are hosting a Parent Event on February 13, 6-8 pm, where we will watch a video of John Mark Comer presenting ideas from his book, The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry. We will make a plan together to eliminate hurry and reclaim an intentional walk with Jesus in a realistic way. This is for every family and individual in our church, not just parents. Dinner and childcare are included. Details and registration here.
Reminder: Last call for baby items donations!
Don’t forget to drop off your donations for New Life Family Services and Woodbury Options for Women by January 29. Here’s the shopping list. Whether you donate or not, please pray for both these partner organizations and for the families they help each year! Your prayers and donations will help women and families who find themselves in a crisis pregnancy. Questions? Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org.
Do you enjoy people?
Do you have a heart for welcoming new people? Or perhaps do you love to make guests feel welcome in your home? If so, please consider joining one of our Connections Ministry teams. We have openings for Ushers, Greeters, Acorn Cafe, and Concierge. Most of these roles are once per month. Interested? Email Danny Martin.
Ladies, you have a place at the TABLE
Please join us as we share a meal, hear a short message and enjoy guided conversation to learn more about God and each other on Wednesday, February 1, 9:30-11:30 am. This is a great opportunity to invite a neighbor, meet some new friends, and connect with others you haven’t seen in awhile. Childcare provided. Registration details here. Questions? Email women@fiveoakschurch.org.
Daily rhythm of scripture
Would you like to be a part of helping hundreds in our church engage in Scripture daily? Well you can, by joining our DailyLife writing team. You write a few short devotionals every 4ish weeks in line with the scripture from the current series we are in. It’s a great way to serve from anywhere and on your own schedule. Plus, we have a writing mentor to help you on-ramp, we provide lots of resources, and you’ll be coached in our writing process!
We’d love your help with our special needs ministry
We love coming alongside every kind of family at every phase. You may not know that each week at the 10:45 service, we have a classroom called The Retreat that serves families with children who might need a bit of extra help while they discover the love of Jesus. This ministry is growing! We’re looking for adults, high school students and middle school students who have a heart for these awesome kids. If you are interested in learning more, please email Kelly Bauman.
Are you at least 5 years old? This one’s for you.
Feed My Starving Children is one way to get your whole family involved in providing nutrient-rich meals to some of the most impoverished parts of the world. Join your Five Oaks family at FMSC in Eagan on February 11, at 11:30 am, to pack meals together. We have 110 spots reserved for our church, and kids as young as 5 years old are welcome to serve with their parents! Details and registration here.
Bless Your City Grants: We’ll help your small group reach others
Even though the BLESS Campaign is over, we still have funds available for Bless Your City Grants. If your small group has an idea for serving your neighbors in the name of Jesus, and some additional funds would help make that idea real, please consider taking the next step of completing the simple grant application. Contact Dave Baar if you have questions or need a copy of the application: impact@fiveoakschurch.org.
