Weekend of March 18+19

Let’s pray for and honor our vocational missionaries

Today we honor and recognize the Five Oakers whose primary vocation is serving Jesus in a role we’ve traditionally called “missionaries,” and Five Oakers who are dedicating significant portions of their lives to forming missions organizations. We give God all the honor and praise for their work, and we support them as members of our family.

Lent at Five Oaks: Bring God back to the center

Do you ever feel as though life gets a bit busier each day? Sometimes the tasks of the day fill our time before we make room for God and Scripture. This upside down template may seem fulfilling for awhile, as the busier we are, sometimes the less relevant God seems. Lent is a time for reflection and renewal. If you’d like to flip the script and get God back to the center, join us on Thursday evenings at 7 pm  for our Lent services. We’ll equip you with a reminder of the foundational teachings of our faith and reasons why it matters to bring God with you into every day. Childcare provided.

Dailylife team: Writers wanted. Inquire within!

If you would like to help shepherd hundreds of readers in their faith journey, consider joining our DailyLife team as a writer. This team creates the content for our in-house daily devotional, called DailyLife, that lands in email inboxes five days a week. We provide training, resources, and coaching to our writers and editors. You can expect to create three days of content each month on average. Want more info? Put “DaillyLife writer” on your connect card, or email Jonathan Haage, jhaage@fiveoakschurch.org.

Fun for your family this Easter season!
Kick off the season with fun, games, music, and the Easter story at Easter Jam! We can’t wait to celebrate the greatest moment in history with you. Everyone is welcome at Easter Jam! However, the event is intended for elementary-aged kids and their parents. We’ve found in the past that younger kids don’t understand the content and get restless quickly. This is a great event for a special outing with your elementary kids. Invite a friend or neighbor! Join us March 26, 4:30 pm. More info and registration here.

Still time to join the Holy Spirit series!

Men, we want to invite you on a continued journey to learn about the Holy Spirit. Would listening to the Holy Spirit be a welcome change or more like an interruption to your life? Journeymen has just started a video series based on the book Forgotten God from Francis Chan that will equip you to engage in your relationship with the Holy Spirit and help you reorder priorities as God would have you do. Visit www.fiveoaks.church/men for more information.

Save these dates for summer with Five Oaks Students!

This summer we are giving a variety of opportunities for our students and our leaders to dive deeper into relationships and God’s Word through summer camp and FCA camp. We do this because the time spent in community and with godly adults in a week of camp equals an entire ministry year of Wednesday night programming. So save the date for Middle School Camp (June 12-17), 9th/10th Grade Camp (June 25-30), and FCA Camp (July 10-13)! Registrations available soon at www.fiveoaks.church/students.

Study God’s Word like the persecuted church

Christians around the world gather in many unique ways. Without the freedom to gather regularly, the persecuted church meets in small groups to study the Word. Each year, a one-night event called Secret Church provides churches like ours the opportunity to experience (in a small way) the challenges of the persecuted church. Join us at Five Oaks on April 21 for a night of Bible study and prayer for the persecuted church, conducted via a live simulcast around the world. Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org, for more info and to sign up.
