Learn more about baptism for adults
Baptism is an important faith milestone in the life of Christians. It is an outward expression of an inward transformation that God has done in your life! An easy way to make a big impact for the Los Angeles Fires
The fires in L.A. left deep scars on the local landscape and communities. Among those hit hard are those in and around the community of East Hollywood, where Five Oaks-supported missionaries Greg and Michelle Larson live and serve. Please continue to pray for recovery efforts and their ministry. If you’d like to help beyond prayer, we have an Amazon shopping list of items needed in the wake of the fires. Click the QR code below to get the list, or put “fire” on your connect card. Questions? Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org.
Join us for our final Together Campaign Prayer Event next week
You are part of the heart of our church’s mission. We know you’re invested in what God has next for Five Oaks. Because of our commitment to how God is moving in our church, we invite you to join us for a time of prayer — together — at one or more of our Together Prayer Gatherings. Look forward to a low-key time that includes prayer in smaller groups and time for individual prayer and reflection. Whether you’re a veteran prayer or someone newer to prayer, God wants to hear from you on behalf of the Together Campaign. Thursdays, 6-7 pm, now through February 27. Questions? Email Brandon and Sara Hale at haleandcompany@gmail.com.
We’d love your help with our growing ministry
It’s no secret that adults play a key role in helping teens explore important faith-based questions and mature into their own relationship with Jesus. If you’d like to get involved on Wednesday nights with middle or high school students, we have a variety of roles with varying levels of commitment. You could help with set-up or clean-up, meal team, help lead a small group, and more. Email students@fiveoakschurch.org to get started.
Are you new? Interested in small groups?
Small groups are a great way to help a bigger church, like ours, feel like a small church. If you’re new or newish to Five Oaks, you likely are looking for a way to plug in AND learn more about our church. Consider checking out our New Here small group led by Ben and Theresa Gulsvig. This group meets twice monthly after the second service on Sundays. They start with a potluck lunch and have childcare available. Go to
www.fiveoaks.church/small-groups to get started.
Pray for our refugee neighbors who are in crisis
Arrive Ministries, a Five Oaks IMPACT partner, is hosting an evening of worship, story, and prayer on Tuesday, February 25, from 7 to 8:30 pm at Eagle Brook Church in Maplewood. Their goal is to bring local churches together to approach the throne of God on behalf of our neighbors - refugees, aliens, and strangers who bear the image of God - to pray for justice and provision. You may register for the event here.
