As women, we know you get pulled in many different directions, often leaving your own needs unchecked. If you’d like to grow deeper in your faith and in turn become more engaged, with intent, in all areas of your life, consider checking out our Five Oaks Women Radical Mentoring program. This program strives to create an environment for women to be real, share their stories, and find encouragement in their spiritual lives. Deep relationships are formed among small group members through monthly meetings covering different themes relating to our walk with Jesus. Mentors and mentees will grow in their faith through accountability, prayer, and discussions related to each month’s theme. Interested? More details here.

Do you think cutting paper for Jesus sounds like a party? (We do!) If you enjoy being creative, or simply have a heart to help, we have TWO dates set aside for preparing VBS decorations. You don’t need to come with a special set of skills. A willingness to help is perfection! Join us on June 11 and/or 25. We’ll start this party at 1 pm in the gym. FCA Camp: An action-packed serve opportunity
FCA Camp is four days of high impact for kids and students in 4th-7th grade to learn about Jesus through various sports activities. This camp can’t happen without the help of adult and high school volunteers. You don’t have to be a sporty person to volunteer, just a heart that wants to show and guide campers to learn about Jesus. Our children need you this summer!
Summer time in Minnesota is so beautiful! Many of our year-long volunteers take a break from their weekly volunteer roles in the summer, which opens up opportunities for others to try a new serve role. If you love kids, this is your chance to jump in and show them that love. Our staff does all the lesson prep and set-up for you, so you can show up to jump in! Join us for a Middle East & North Africa missions update — this Sunday!
Do you have a heart for global mIssions? Are you interested in learning more about the work our vocational missionary partners are doing in the Middle East and North Africa? If so, join us for an information sharing session on June 11 at 10:15 am, in Room 102. Several Five Oakers will be sharing stories and lessons learned from our recent trip to the Middle East. Pray for Barb Hawn - Moms in Prayer Trip to Mongolia
As part of her ministry with Moms in Prayer, Five Oaker Barb Hawn will be traveling to Mongolia from June 12-29. While in Mongolia, Barb will be working with Christian leaders in the country, doing education and discipleship focused on the power of prayer. She will be the key speaker at a two-day conference, investing in leadership development for the Moms In Prayer leaders in Mongolia, and encouraging pastors and moms throughout the country. Please keep Barb in your prayers as she prepares for this trip, travels and serves leaders throughout Mongolia.
Updates on VBS and FCA
In the summer something huge takes place here at Five Oaks! The whole church is transformed into a place where kids of all ages come to engage and encounter God and his community in a life-changing way at Vacation Bible School (VBS) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) camp! VBS runs in the morning and FCA in the afternoon of July 10-13. VBS is open to current ages 3 years old through 3rd grade. Bless Your City Grants were established as part of our BLESS capital campaign that wrapped up earlier this year. These grants are available to help small groups meet important needs in our city and to serve our community in the name of Jesus. Through serving together, the group will both strengthen their bond as a small group community and shine the light of Jesus to their neighbors. Questions? Or have a project in mind? Introducing our summer Impact interns!
We’re looking forward to an exciting summer on the Impact team, as we’ll have three high school students, all rising seniors, joining us as interns: Hannah Dunbar, Samuel Ellingson, and Luke Spielman. They’ll have about ten weeks with us, and their projects include: the Panama Mission trip with our student ministry, helping out at middle school Camp Getaway, working with various local Impact partners, and some internal Five Oaks staff projects. Our Story of God class is a 6-week journey through the Bible. Taking this class will help you read the Bible with greater understanding and help you see how the Bible fits together to tell one big story.
