celebrating wins from winter retreats
What an incredible couple of weekends of growth and fellowship! At the Men’s Summit, over 80 guys came together, forging bonds and deepening their relationship with God. Meanwhile, at the Women’s Retreat, more than 80 women embarked on a similar journey of spiritual enrichment and sisterhood. Amidst games, pickleball matches, and endless laughter, both groups shared in the joy of community while fueling their spirits with copious amounts of coffee. Both men’s and women’s ministries have great ways to jump in right now! Visit their webpages to learn more: Men's Ministry or Women's Ministry.

Help us welcome visitors at Easter
Looking for an easy way to give back during the Easter season? We are looking for multiple people to serve with Five Oaks Kids and with Connections for our Easter weekend services. You could hold babies, play basketball with kids, help serve coffee, usher, or many other things. With extra services that weekend and many visitors, this is a great opportunity to try out a new serve role and bless our newcomers! Click here for roles in Five Oaks Kids. For roles in Connections, email Laura-Paige Albert.
Three things worth noting
1. We’re looking forward to seeing your middle and high schoolers again on March 13 with a joint middle school and high school worship night led by the Wood Lake Camp worship team. 2. Have you registered your middle schooler for summer Camp Getaway yet? June 9-14! Don’t miss out! 3. We still have some spots left for the high school Challenge conference in Kansas City, July 1-6. To register for either of these, visit www.fiveoaks.church/students.
Lent at Five Oaks: Bring God back to the center
Do you ever feel as though life gets a bit busier each day? Sometimes, the day’s tasks fill our time before we make room for God and Scripture. This upside-down template may seem fulfilling for a while, as the busier we are, the less relevant God seems sometimes. Lent is a time for reflection and renewal. If you’d like to flip the script and get God back to the center, join us in exploring the essential doctrines of the Christian faith that Jesus taught in his seven last words. We’ll equip you with the foundational teachings of our faith and reasons why it matters to walk with God every day. We meet on Thursday evenings during Lent at 7 pm, now through Easter. Childcare provided. Questions? Email Tom Vang.
Brownies, bunco, bonding & bible studies
Ladies, as you start making plans for spring, mark your calendars for these new and returning ways to connect. 1. We have two new evening “pop-up” (shorter length) studies starting Tuesday night, March 26 (Flourish by Lydia Bomback) and Monday night, April 8 (the book of Ruth). They both meet from 6:30-8:00 pm at church. 2. Join us on Thursday, April 11 where we will brush away the mild winter blues with Bunco, Brownies & Bonding. You can register for all of these on our website: www.fiveoaks.church/women.
Global 6K - Save the date
It’s hard for us to imagine how drastic the impact of unclean water can be. In parts of the world, many women and children walk three or more miles each day to collect the only water they have access to—unclean water that makes them sick and causes over 1000 children’s deaths each day. You can help make a difference in the lives of these kids and families by being a part of our annual Team World Vision Global 6K for Water event at Colby Lake Park on May 18. Save the date! Sign-up details are coming soon.
Join us for Family Fun Night!
Looking for a fun way to connect with your family and others at Five Oaks? Join us on Friday, March 22, 6:30-8:30 pm at Five Oaks. You can look forward to games (active or not), crafts, and snacks. Come and connect with other families who also have preschool & elementary-aged kids. Details and registration here. Questions? Email Kelly Bauman.
Specific need: Help turn sleeping bags into blessings!
One of our mission partners, Greg Larson, works in urban ministry at Kairos Church in East Hollywood, CA. They do some work with those experiencing homelessness and have asked if we’d be willing to provide sleeping bags or blankets to give out to people. These can be shipped straight to Kairos Church from Amazon, for example, or from another retail source.
