last call for our monday evening parenting event

Monday, October 7, 6:30-8:30 pm, snacks included. Childcare available for $5/child. We still have a few spots left! More info and register here. Questions? Email Kelly Bauman.

Kids Hope USA: Mentors, prayer partners, administrators needed

For more than 10 years, Five Oaks has partnered with Kids Hope USA to provide the gift of mentorship to students at Woodbury Elementary School. A KHUSA mentor offers one hour each week to one student in need of emotional, social, and academic support. Staff and parents share time and again that the 1:1 attention and investment of a caring adult improves attitude, focus, performance, and confidence. One hour from you each week can change the trajectory of a student’s life right here in our community! Our ministry is currently recruiting mentors, prayer partners, and volunteers to provide support for events and communication. Is God nudging you? Email KHUSA@fiveoaks.org.

Drive Season starts this weekend
The first of several supply drives between now and January launches this weekend with The Dwelling Place. They offer safe transitional housing and Christ-centered support services for women and children who have suffered domestic abuse. Between now and October 20, we’re collecting household items for this ministry. Grab a full shopping list at the table in the commons this weekend, or access it here. Questions? Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Small groups could change your life
Small groups are a building block of community at our church. If you’re feeling disconnected in this season of life, or if you’re new and you’d like to find meaningful community and people to walk through life with, consider joining a small group. Most of our groups meet in homes 1-3 times per month, and they offer opportunities to dig deeper into scriptures covered on the weekends, time spent in prayer, and of course, social time and great snacks. Many Five Oakers who are in a small group say that their group has become their chosen family, the people they call on in times of celebration and greatest need. Want more info? Explore open small groups or fill out a form to get started here.

A small group just for new people
We know the most powerful way to connect and make Five Oaks your church home is to join a small group. It provides so much encouragement and intentionality to your desire to know God more and live more like Jesus. If you’re new here, we have a group just for you called the … wait for it… New Here Group! This group meets every other week at church on Sunday afternoons, and childcare is also available. Interested? More info here.

Bring your neighbor with you to pack meals
