Weekend of September 21+22

SMALL GROUPS CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Small groups are a building block of community at our church. If you’re feeling disconnected in this season of life, or if you’re new and you’d like to find meaningful community and people to walk through life with, consider joining a small group. Most of our groups meet in homes 1-3 times per month, and they offer opportunities to dig deeper into scriptures covered on the weekends, time spent in prayer, and of course, social time and great snacks. Many Five Oakers who are in a small group say that their group has become their chosen family, the people they call on in times of celebration and greatest need. Want more info? Explore open small groups or fill out a form to get started here.

Fun Night just for fifth graders and their friends
Fifth grade is traditionally known as the “I’ve got this” phase. Kids are growing in their independence, yet still have a lot of learning to do before they fly the nest. To help kids feel confident and ready to transition to youth group in sixth grade, we offer several fifth grade-only events each year. The first one this year is on Friday,
September 27, 6:30-8:30 pm
at Five Oaks and will include fall games and fun activities! Register here.

If you’d like to be able to read the Bible with a better understanding, join us this fall for the Story of God class. We have two classes starting in the next couple of weeks! More info and registration here.

Healing from betrayal trauma for women
The pain and trauma created through sexual betrayal is devastating, but healing is possible. You are not alone…being able to process your experiences in a safe, grace-filled place — and working at a pace that encourages self-discovery — will empower you to make strides in your healing and equip you to make informed decisions for your future. We have a group starting this fall. If you have experienced this type of betrayal in your relationship, consider this path of healing in your life. We know this is a sensitive journey , so we have a specific way to reach out to our women’s group leader who has experienced this journey. Email puredesirewomen@fiveoakschurch.org   and our Pure Desire leader here at Five Oaks will reach out.

Kids Hope USA: Making a difference in Woodbury
For more than 10 years, Five Oaks has partnered with Kids Hope USA to provide the gift of mentorship to students at Woodbury Elementary School. A KHUSA mentor offers one hour each week to one student in need of emotional, social, and academic support beyond what they normally receive in the classroom and at home. Staff and parents share over and over again that the 1:1 attention and investment of a caring adult improves attitude, focus, performance, and confidence. One hour from you each week can change the trajectory of a student’s life right here in our community! Our ministry is currently recruiting mentors, prayer partners, and support for events and communication. Is God nudging you? Email KHUSA@fiveoaks.org,

Save the date to help feed the world

We have 120 spots reserved for our church, and kids as young as 5 years old are welcome to serve with their parents! To register: http://www.fmsc.org/join-group?joincode=KDZ9V4
