Weekend of November 30+December 1

All the details for christmas eve services

As you make plans to celebrate Christmas with friends and family, we hope to see you for worship at one of our six Christmas services. We’ll gather on December 23 at 3:30 and 5 pm, and on December 24 at 1, 2:30, 4 and 5:30 pm. We will have programming available for kids ages birth through first grade. Kids ages second grade and up will worship with their families. Please note: On December 21+22, we will have a short message online only. No in-person services that weekend. Questions? Email office@fiveoakschurch.org.

Join us on Sunday afternoons to celebrate the season
The Christmas holidays are upon us, and that means our Family Advent Services are, too. Join us on December 1, 8, and 15, all at 4:30 pm. We’ll start in the worship center with some fun and games and a short Christmas message. Afterward, options include games and activities for toddlers to grandparents, treats, crafts, and some time to socialize. No need to register. Invite your neighbors and friends

Fifth graders: Invite your friends for a night of fun
Throughout the year, we invite fifth graders to specific events so they can have fun and make connections before they join Five Oaks Students next fall. Our next event will be on Friday, December 6, 6:30 to 8 pm. Kids can look forward to a variety of activities and games to choose from. It’s a great invite opportunity for friends and neighbors. Interested? Details and registration here.

Get those old shoes out and ready to donate!
Got a pile of shoes you don’t need or wear?  If  you want those shoes to make a difference, bring them to the commons starting this weekend through December 29.  This year we’re partnering again with Good in the Hood in their Shoe Away Hunger program. Every pair of new or gently used footwear received will be sold at low cost to people in need, and the proceeds from each sale will be used to supply one person with up to seven days of essential groceries. For more info, email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Ladies, join us for more than just brunch
Come together other ladies at our next TABLE  on Wednesday, December 4, at 9:30 am at Five Oaks Church. This is a potluck-style meal with fellowship and a time of guided conversation. All are welcome; invite your friends and join us for a time of connection. Registration and more info here. Questions? Email our team.

This event consists of seasonal tunes, tasty treats, and conversations that we hope will encourage you in whatever season you are in as we approach the holidays. December 12, 6:30-8:30 pm. This is a great season and a great event to invite your neighbor or co-worker to! Details and registration here. Questions? Please email our leadership team.

Students: Updates for your calendar
We look forward to our Christmas celebration with students December 18 at youth group. Then we’ll break for the holidays and resume our regular youth group schedule on January 15. Our snow tubing night (all 5th-12th graders are welcome! Yes! You read that right – 5th grade too!) will be on January 11. Look for all dates and any registrations on our website or your Church Center app. Questions? Email students@fiveoakschurch.org.

Wish you could streamline all your church info?
Whether you’re new or a long-time member, staying connected with our community has never been easier. Need to check service times or your small group date? Want to join a group, sign up for an event, or watch past sermons? It’s all available in one central location -- in the Church Center app on your phone. This app is a tool that will help lessen the burden of sifting through emails or finding that ONE group text that includes the details you’re looking for. You can find the Church Center app wherever you download your apps. Questions? Email office@fiveoakschurch.org.

Curious about a family mission trip next summer?
If you are interested in learning more about our plans to serve in Panama in 2025, please join us for one of these information sessions:
December 7, 2024, 5-5:30 pm - Room 105
December 8, 2024, 10:15-10:45 am - Room 105
This mission trip is open to everyone 18 years of age and older and families with middle school-aged students and up. We plan to serve alongside the Word of Life Panama missionaries and will partner with Filter of Hope and the local church to share the gospel and water filtration systems with Panamanian families. Help spread Christmas cheer in Woodbury!
Save the date for when you’ll see our Kids Hope Giving Tree with gift tags hanging on it. This is a simple way to bless the Kids Hope students we mentor at Woodbury Elementary as well as their families with Christmas gifts. Starting November 30, Stop by the Giving Tree in the commons between services to grab a tag with an item on it. You may shop for that item/gift card & bring it back, wrapped, by December 15! Email khusa@fiveoakschurch.org with any questions.

Men’s Summit: Step away to move forward
It can be helpful to step away from normal rhythms for a few days so we can step back into them with greater intentionality. You could take that step back during our Men’s Summit weekend, January 31-February 2, 2025. We’ll hear from speaker Dr. Ron Archer and enjoy many fun activities, from pickleball to snowshoeing, with plenty of free time to explore outside or read a book by the fire. Come get recharged! Details and registration here.

Thank you for providing 140 Thanksgiving bags!
It was fun to see the “sea of bags” return to the commons this year. Thanks to your generosity, the 140 bags you donated will help feed nearly 700 of our neighbors this Thanksgiving!  We all have so much to be thankful for, and you serving in this way is one of them! Thank you, Five Oaks!
