Weekend of June 29+30

Join us for the global leadership summit

Whether your life’s work is the breadwinning role in the family, a volunteer spot in your community, a supporting role in a nonprofit, or a caregiving role for your kids or aging parents, we all lead others in some capacity. The Global Leadership Summit is the largest leadership event in the country, and this two-day event offers opportunities for growth and sharpening for every leader. Five Oaks is a host site this year! Join us August 8 and 9 to see how God can move the needle in your own leadership. Want more info? Email Emily Brewer, ebrewer@fiveoakschurch.org to get the registration link.

Mission partner from the Middle East visiting this weekend
We’re so excited about our growing partnership with the ReachGlobal team working in the Middle East. This weekend, one of the families we partner with in the Middle East will visit with us for all three services. Please plan to stop in at their table in the commons to welcome them, learn more about all that God is doing in that part of the world and sample a regional treat!

Let’s pause to pray for our Impact partners
Join us this weekend!
On the last Sunday of each month, we gather to pray through specific prayer requests that we’ve received from the missionaries whom we support and our Impact partners. Join us at 10:15 am in Room 102 each month. Our next gathering is this weekend – see you there! Questions? Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Last call for Radical Mentoring
Have you ever been impacted by the wisdom and guidance of a mentor? Whether you have or not, we have all seen the power of a mentor in someone’s life for a season. Radical Mentoring is a great opportunity for you to be personally mentored to grow in your relationship with God and others. Many mentorships fail because of a lack of a mentor, or a lack of a defined start and end time, or a lack of a specific plan or roadmap. Radical Mentoring’s process, mixed with wise leaders in our church, addresses those problems head-on to allow you to engage for a 10-month season with a mentor and a small group. Men, you’ll find more info on Radical Mentoring for Men here. Ladies, click here for more info on Radical Mentoring for Women.

Please pray for the Challenge Conference this week
Our high schoolers will be in Kansas City, MO on Monday through Saturday for the EFCA Youth Challenge Conference.
We want our students to experience the joy of knowing Jesus and helping others do the same. Challenge blends aspects of a conference, a mission trip and camp as a catalyst that moves beyond the mountaintop moment to building missional momentum within our students. Please pray for gospel growth in the lives of the students during this exciting and impactful week!

Ways to connect this summer!
Are you new to Five Oaks or looking to get more involved? We have some great ways to get started this summer! If you have kids, our women’s ministry has playdates every Tuesday morning at local parks (More info on women’s ministry here.) Our men’s ministry is meeting every other Saturday morning at 7 am at the church for a Bible study. (Details for men’s ministry here.) Or jump into summer socials in one of our small groups. (Small groups info is available here.)

Two ways to help us prep for VBS!
We are so excited for VBS coming up in July! If you are someone who likes to set up for a party, we have some fun opportunities for you to make a difference! 1. We’re making decor on June 30 at 1:00 and would love your help – walk-ups are welcome! 2. Our set-up and church decorating times will be Thursday, July 11, starting at 9 am, and the final decor set-up will happen on July 14 at noon. If you can make it on either the 11th or 14th, please email Kelly Bauman to help us plan for snacks and lunch!

Ever considered Saturdays?
We are experiencing a season of growth as a church! And we know that we all want to continue welcoming and discipling new folks. For that reason, we will launch a fourth worship service beginning September 7. We will have two Saturday worship services, at 4 and 5:30 pm. If you’ve never experienced a Saturday service before, pick a few weekends this summer to check it out. You might find you love it! Questions about our fourth service? Email Jonathan Haage.

Can you drive a bus or van?
Hope Academy is looking for bus and van drivers to support its extracurricular activities. This is an ongoing need for the school, with no set dates and times for the upcoming fall. If you are interested, they can add your name to a list of volunteer drivers and reach out as needs are identified. Please email alicynbolland@hopeschool.org if you want to learn more!
